A leading specialist in Global Crisis Communications & Corporate Reputation Management is seeking an individual with a strong background in Public Affairs (Reputation Management) or Crisis Communications and, in particular, experience in media training.

This role will be servicing the international maritime and shipping sector, providing crisis media and reputation management services. It is an extremely challenging and interesting sector and an appreciation of Geo Politics, International Relations & Affairs would be advantageous.

You will be on standby to manage the media should one of their clients be subjected to media intrusion due to suffering a maritime incident or corporate difficulty and you will also provide ongoing media training. You will take responsibility for delivering strategic and hands on media advice to clients during an incident, managing media calls and messaging as well as producing follow-up reports and analysis. Other core elements of the role include client relationship management and care, media training at all levels and business development.

Examples of incidents include:

• Vessel collision or grounding

• Pollution or other environmental damage

• Seafarer death or injury

• Terrorist attack

• Piracy attack

• Allegations of smuggling

• Allegations of bribery, corruption or other corporate wrong-doing

 

Attributes needed :

Crisis communications/reputation management experience is essential, preferably in a B2B environment

Calm and organised in a crisis

Able to write clear, concise English

Able to communicate effectively at all management levels and able to hold their own at C level

Polished and effective presenter/ media trainer 

Willing to travel and work out of hours where required

Currently 100% remote with expectation of hybrid working in City of London office later in 2021
