Graduates have revealed their list of top employers for the very first time, i-l-m.com reports.
Anonymous career review site thejobcrowd.com found the information by asking 3,000 graduates in their first three years of employment which were the best companies for jobs in London and the rest of the UK.
Companies from seventeen different industries were included in the poll, including the sectors of banking, retail, law, engineering, transport, IT and media.
Participants judged firms on a number of factors, including work-life balance, responsibility, progression opportunities, colleague interaction, training and benefits.
Computer giant Microsoft came up as the top firm people enjoyed working for – scoring particularly high for ‘progression’ in the workplace. Finance specialists Newton Europe came in at a close second, followed by National Grid, FDM Group, The Co-Operative Group and Sky. The rest of the top ten was made up by Channel 4, Barratt Developments, Waitrose and Kiln Group.
Karen Mitchell, co-founder of The Job Crowd, told onrec.com: “We asked thousands of graduate employees to score their day to day role across a range of criteria and after collecting our results over a number of months, have been able to compile a list of the most loved graduate employers.”
She also said that ‘extremely specific questions’ were asked to participants in order to develop a clear understanding of the benefits and limitations of working for different companies.
